Panel & Service Upgrades

The panel is the heart of your home's electrical system, and it is usually the reason the rest of the system can or can't grow. An EV charger, a hot tub, a basement apartment, a workshop: every one of them starts with the same question. Does the panel have the capacity and the space? A service upgrade answers it properly, once.

Upgrade calls in this part of Ontario tend to follow a few familiar patterns. A 60A or 100A service that has run out of room. An old fuse box an insurance company wants gone. A renovation that needs more circuits than the panel has slots. A panel brand with a known defect history. Whatever the reason, the job gets assessed on site, quoted in writing, and filed with the Electrical Safety Authority so it is inspected and on record.

A service upgrade is coordinated work. The utility disconnect and reconnect are scheduled, the old equipment comes out, the new panel, breakers, grounding, and bonding go in, and your circuits are relabelled so the directory in the door actually matches the house. Power is typically off for part of one day, and you are told the plan before it happens, not after.
